What does the word CORE mean to you?

What does the word CORE mean to you?

I asked 3 people what the word CORE means to them. One, a highly motivated and health-focussed 24-year-old, said “the strength at the centre of your body”. Another, a wannabe poet and full-time dreamer, said “what you get to when you bite into life”. The third, a young professional whose property deal had just collapsed, shouted “NOTHING!”. I’ll ask again at a better time …

So, what does CORE mean to me?

In truth, it means so many things.

  • To me, CORE represents the pillar that supports our physical and mental health.
  • It embodies the science and knowledge that’s at the centre of my methods.
  • It represents the central community at the heart of the safe space we seek to build.
  • It harnesses the power that I believe we all have within us to reach beyond ourselves.
  • It is the place from which our journey starts.

As I embark upon this new adventure to build my new studio in Brick Lane, I often look up and smile widely as I arrive at that famous chimney that stands at the epicentre of this vibrant community in the heart of East London.

I love it, and all that it symbolises. I know you’re going to love it too.
